WHO USES THE TEST?
The Vitamin D Test is especially recommended for people commonly at risk of vitamin D deficiency, such as subjects with the following symptoms: frequent fatigue and tiredness, insufficient sun exposure, limited intake of this element through the diet or who have intestinal absorption problems.
HOW DOES THE TEST WORK?
Vitamin D Test is an immunochromatographic device that, thanks to specific antibodies, is capable of detecting the levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D in the blood sample and highlighting its concentration thanks to the intensity of the Test Line (T) obtained. This test shows results of:
- deficit 0-10 ng / ml
- insufficient 10-30 ng/ml
- sufficient 30-100 ng / ml
- excess> 100 ng / ml
WHEN SHOULD I DO THE TEST?
It is useful to perform the Vitamin D Test if you suffer from osteoporosis, other bone health problems or diseases that influence the absorption of fats (such as celiac disease), following particular conditions in which Vitamin absorption is compromised (such as a gastric bypass operation) or in the case of drugs that interfere with the action of the molecule (anticonvulsants and glucocorticoids).
It is also advisable to carry out the Test if the calcium levels are low and / or if the patient presents the typical symptoms of vitamin D deficiency, such as rickets (bone malformation in children), bone weakness or fragility and osteomalacia, repeated bone fractures in adults. Finally, the test is also particularly suitable for people at high risk of deficiency. (such as the elderly, hospitalized people, those who leave little or nothing at home and/or expose themselves to the sun, and obese people).

- 2 sterile lancets for self-puncture and blood sampling
- 1 antiseptic cleansing gauze
- 1 dropper vial containing the diluent for the test
- 1 transparent plastic bag containing the pipette for taking blood samples
- 1 vitamin D color card 1 sealed foil pouch containing:
- 1 test device
- 1 sachet desiccant
