Cefar Basic stimulator programs:
- CEFAR BASIC has 3 preset programs. If a TENS treatment has been prescribed for you by a physiotherapist, follow the advice he has given you regarding the program to be used and the placement of the electrodes.
Program 1: Conventional TENS
High frequency stimulation is the first choice for the treatment of acute pain and chronic. It blocks painful signals thus relieving pain and even suppressing it. Program 1 can be used for lumbar, cervical, shoulder, and elbow pain, rheumatism, menstrual ramps, phantom limb pain (from an amputated limb), hip pain, knee osteoarthritis, and to aid wound healing. .
Program 2: TENS Burst
Low-frequency stimulation relieves pain by stimulating the secretion of the body's morphine-like substances, endorphins, in the muscles. Place the electrodes on the muscle in the painful area until visible contractions are felt. Low-frequency stimulation is usually most effective for pain that radiates to the arms and legs (projected pain), deep muscle pain, or when the effect of high-frequency TENS does not last long enough.
Program 3: Stimulation with modulated pulse width.
Pulse width modulated stimulation is a type of high-frequency stimulation. The length of each pulse varies continuously, giving an undulating sensation, which many people find very pleasant. Program 3 can be used for the same symptoms as program 1, or if you wish you can relieve pain and massage muscles, for example in the neck.
