A vocation that has been passed down through generations at Rudy, starting with the genius of Spiridione Calabrese, who was the first to discover the formula for melting and solidifying lipsticks. Spiridione was a multifaceted man and the success of his discovery was the result of an intense activity that began in his small hair salon on Via San Paolo in Milan.
In 1914 he sold the business to his brother and went from mixing dyes to producing cosmetics. It was 1920, women's fashion was revolutionised in style and practicality while the myth of Rudolph Valentino was on fire in the cinemas. Lipstick became a resounding success, Spiridione Calabrese was appointed Commander of Labour and founded Rudy Profumi.
The brand was designed for luxury products, a synthesis of Italian style and international vocation. Rudy Profumi became an industry and began to advertise its brand in women's magazines, in cinemas and on the radio with the slogan: "The secret of the fascinating look". Thanks to the success achieved and family pride, Rudy Profumi survived the difficult times of the war. During the subsequent economic boom, Antonio, Spiridione's son, took over the management and launched new lines of perfumes in which the packaging became a gift item.
Brilliant and extroverted, Antonio leaves the leadership of the company to his four sons who aspire to international expansion, expanding the distribution network to more than 30 countries around the world and promoting a wide range of body care and beauty products. Today we are happy to offer the best of perfumery tradition and Italian style. We continue to fuse aesthetics and essence in the search for quality materials and components capable of delighting the eye and giving everyone an intense feeling of well-being.
