At Holle baby food we are manufacturers of organic baby milk in Demeter quality. The Holle company was founded in 1933 and from the beginning the use of any preservatives or chemical components was strictly renounced.
Sustainable from the start
More than 80 years ago at Holle we started making baby food from Demeter ingredients. We are aware that as a manufacturer of baby food we have a great responsibility: with the environment, our babies and their future. Hence, our fundamental values have always been to work sustainably and committed to society. Our economic conception allows future generations to also live in a healthy environment. In practice, this means that we make great efforts and carry out a whole series of measures and projects that gradually make Holle a bit more sustainable.
In a materiality analysis we have identified six areas of interest of our business activity that for us and those who are interested in our products have, and probably will continue to have in the future, the greatest relevance in terms of sustainability. We have developed a symbol in order to illustrate these areas of interest and our involvement with sustainability as well as to be able to communicate: the sustainability spike. This appears on the packaging of our products and its meaning will be explained in detail in our next sustainability report.
Under the motto "Improve the soil" we are committed to global climate protection. Since the beginning of 2013 we have been offsetting the CO2e emissions generated in the production of our infant food. Since November 2014, Holle cereal porridges and all Holle milk porridges have also been neutral. We obtain emission rights through biodynamic compost projects from Soil & More in Egypt and South Africa.
In addition, we support different projects that promote natural diversity instead of genetic engineering.
