Choose the right seat:

In most cases, your hips and knees should be at the same height. A seat that is too low may be inadvisable (post-hip surgery) and may be uncomfortable to get up from.

Measure the distance between the floor and the lower part of the thigh, just behind the knee. This is the recommended seat height.
