The splint is made of polypropylene (flesh colour). The lower part extends from the distal zone of the finger to exceeding the distal interphalangeal joint, it is thimble-shaped to house the fingertip. The upper part, attached to the lower part, leaves the nail area free and reaches the distal interphalangeal joint.

The splint is made of polypropylene (flesh-colored). The lower part extends from the distal area of the finger to exceed the distal interphalangeal joint, it is thimble-shaped to accommodate the fingertip.
The upper part, attached to the lower part, leaves the area of the nail and reaches the distal interphalangeal joint.
Effects:Its purpose is to immobilize the distal interphalangeal joint, keeping it in extension or hyper-extension, allowing instead the movement of the proximal interphalangeal joint to avoid possible adverse effects on the rest of the joints.
Indications: Tears of the extensor at the level of its insertion on the dorsal aspect of the distal phalanx.
