What is an aromatic hydrosol?
They are distilled vegetable waters (Aquae distillatae ex plantis).
Hydrolates are obtained by steam distillation of various parts of aromatic plants. They consist of the aqueous phase recondensed and separated from the essential oil when present.
For a long time mistakenly considered a residue from distillation, hydrolate is now recovering its nobility for all types of cosmetic treatments.
Do not confuse hydrosol and vegetable flavored water
Vegetable flavored waters are obtained from aromas of plant origin, either by dilution in purified water or by steam followed by decantation and filtration. In fact, they are very different products because the production techniques are also very different.
