Smooth curved rubber cane | R. 29. This smooth curved cane is made of turned chestnut.
This smooth curved cane is made of turned chestnut. Its main characteristics are the following:
The cane is a technical aid for mobility. It serves to facilitate walking, increasing stability, and reducing fatigue or load when walking on the lower extremities, since it allows the weight of the affected leg to be unloaded.
The canes are indicated to be used by people who have functional deficits in one or both lower extremities caused by pathologies such as arthritis and osteoarthritis or neurological diseases.
The use of the cane allows the user to maintain independence to move around and helps to have a good, dynamic and active quality of life.
There are many kinds of canes. They are made of different materials, such as wood and aluminum. In addition, we find a multitude of designs that allow people to choose the one that best suits their style, which provides added value, without affecting the cane's main function of providing balance and relief.
For the cane to fulfill its purpose, it is necessary to make good use of it. For this, it is necessary to take into account the following:
The grip on the handle of the cane must be adequate. The user must feel comfortable and secure in the support of the hand, choosing the handle that best suits their needs.
The measurement should be from the wrist to the floor in a vertical position. In other words, the optimal height is the one from the greater trochanter to the ground.
In addition, we must check the condition of the support point frequently, since once the rubber begins to wear, the risk of falling increases and the cane loses grip and, therefore, stability.
