The saline solution simulates the composition of the tear itself, so it acts as the tear duct would: it drags and cleans the ocular surface of dust or cosmetics. To avoid the sensation of discomfort, the composition and tonicity of the formula must be compatible with the tear film. The pH of the tear film is neutral and its osmolarity is 300. On the other hand, the pH of Acuaiss Eye Bath is 7.3 and its osmolarity is close to 300.
The ability of hyaluronic acid to retain water and bind the tear film to the corneal epithelium results in the stability of the tear: it restores the balance of the eyes. Sodium hyaluronate or hyaluronic acid has a great capacity to retain water compared to other moisturizers, especially in low humidity conditions (dry environment). In addition, being biocompatible, it does not cause rejection.
Acuaiss Eye Bath has the following properties:
- Cleansing and removing dirt from the ocular surface.
- Hydrating effect.
- Maintaining the pH and tonicity conditions of the tear.
